Description
ABOUT THE PATTERN
The Maxine Hat is worked from top down using 2 strands of yarn held together. The top of the hat is crocheted and the
hem is knitted.
Start with a magic ring and crochet in spiral rounds until the top part is finished, then change to circular needles and
work the hem in reverse stockinette stitch in the round
Finally sew the hem and with a crochet hook work the seams on the top of the hat.

Approx. 100 g of Pingo Mohair from PINGUOIN (84% acrylic, 8% wool, 8% mohair, 50 g = 270 m)
Color: Rouge Flamme.
Circular needles 3.5 mm [US4] [ 80 mm ]
Crochet Hook 2.5 mm [UK12 / USC/2]
Crochet Hook 4 mm [UK4 / USG/6]

GAUGE
CROCHET PART:
19 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm in single crochet in double stranding, crochet hook [UK4 / USG/6].
KNITTED HEM:
17 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch in double stranding, circular needle 3.5 mm [US4] [ 80 mm ].
Make a swatch to achieve the same gauge as indicated above. Needle/Crochet Hook size is only a guide. If you get too
many stitches on 10 cm = 4”, change to a larger needle/crochet hook size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm = 4”,
change to a smaller needle/crochet hook size.
