ABOUT THE PATTERN
The Cléa Scrunchie pattern is specially designed for beginners. It’s knitted in stockinette stitch back and forth on circular needles, then sewn along the length and at the ends.
For more advanced beginners, you can knit it in the round using the magic loop method.
MEASUREMENTS
Width: 12 cm
Length before inserting the elastic: 52 cm
YARNS AND MATERIALS
Approx. 45 g of Knitty 4 from DMC (50g = 140 m)
For the Cléa Scrunchie in the photo above, the following colors were used:
Naturel chiné n° 930 – Noir n° 965 – Bleu n° 969 – Jaune n° 957 – Marine n° 971 – Rose n° 958 – Rouge n° 977
Circular needles 4 mm [ 60 or 80 cm ]
50 cm of Elastic Band
Tapestry needle
GAUGE
Gauge: 19.5 stitches x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on needle size 4 mm.
Make a swatch to achieve the same gauge as indicated above. Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm =4”,change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm = 4”, change to a smaller needle size.
